THE MUPPETS TAKE COMIC QUEST AND EVANSVILLE BY STORM SEPT 16TH AND 17TH!
Jim Henson cartoonist, Guy Gilchrist sets up shop at Comic Quest
to greet and draw for fans for two full days, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Nashville, Tenn. (September 4, 2020) — World-renowned comic strip
illustrator/author, Guy Gilchrist, best known as Jim Henson’s cartoonist and
creator of the “Muppets” daily comic strip (printed worldwide from 1981 to
1986) and the international comic strip, “Nancy” for 22 years, is coming to
Comic Quest in Evansville, Ind. (2260 E Morgan Ave.) on September 16 & 17th Gilchrist will set up shop and be available for a full two days at the comic book store (from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) to allow ample opportunity to meet him under COVID capacity restrictions. The famed cartoonist will greet and draw for fans, bring plenty of one-of-a-kind, original art pieces for purchase, and talk about the art of cartooning. “It is NEVER too soon to start building an appreciation for art in your
kids,” states Gilchrist, who has set his hand to some of the world’s most
beloved and iconic comic strip and Saturday morning cartoon characters,
including the Muppets, Muppet Babies, Fraggles, Teenage Mutant Turtles,
Looney Tunes, Pink Panther, Nancy, Sluggo, and more.
“The characters I draw were some of the ‘gateway characters’ that led
many fans to a love for comic books. We cut our teeth on Bugs Bunny,
Cookie Monster Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, and then expanded to
Batman, Spider-Man, and other Marvel and DC comics, which is so
cool!…and with these characters being far less menacing, its a great time
to bring your little ones and introduce them to the medium.”

COMIC QUEST CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF BEING IN BUSINESS!
September 4th 2020 Comic Quest officially crossed the threshold of being open for 30 years. Our first employee, other than Jim and Tena Jones, happened to be a first year college student at UofE and he notified us of the anniversary. The above picture is of our original store which was close to the corner of Weinback and Lincoln Avenue. The store was only ten foot wide. Within a year we moved next door to a much larger location. Since then we have moved other three times, each time moving to a larger and nicer location. Jim and Tena would like to thank all of our current and previous employees for making out success possible. Chief among these are Mondi Floyd, Matt Tauber, Dave VerWayne, Mike Basden, Jason Bolin, Leilani and Miko Ma-e, Logan Sizemore, Jared Kincaid, Monti Jr, Eleven, Tyler Bass, Jesse Kemplen, Clint Mullinex, Keli Smith, Tim Darrah, Rick & Crystal Vandiver, Jon Thomas and actually many more. But above all we have to thank all the patronage heaped on us for thirty years by out customers. We have survived market downturns, multiple moves, major reorganizations, break-ins, thefts, employee turnover and now a pandemic, all thanks to you.
