Updated Free Comic Book Summer Information For Comic Quest

Following Diamond Comic’s announcement of the revised plans for Free Comic Book Summer(which is replacing FCBD this year, we also want to provide you with updated information related to implementation of the FCBD books this year at Comic Quest.

“Our annual Free Comic Book Day is the best promotional and outreach event for most of our retailers, and is incredibly important to all of us.” said Geppi Family Enterprises Chief Relationship Officer Chris Powell. “With the complications we are all facing in a new environment where the usual huge crowds are not desirable, or sometimes even allowed, we needed to rethink the event and make it much more flexible for our retailer partners.

We as retailers are already beginning to feel the pressure of what is happening, and over the course the months and possibly years to come, many of us will be struggling to survive. We have received many messages of support, and are overwhelmed by the efforts people have made to make purchases with us over the last couple of weeks as things have developed. People have come in to collect when they are able, and have arranged mail orders when they are not. It is all greatly appreciated, and we, as an industry need you...

CHANGES AT COMIC QUEST!

The arcade will be removed from CQ by the end of the week and we can begin working on our new and improved liquidation area! The room that housed the arcade will not have our discounted cards, toys, tpb’s and back issues all in one place. We are also making improvements to our manga displays, our trade-paperback areas and our vintage comic book areas. Changing anything in a retail store is like throwing a pebble in a pond…there are ripple effects throughout the store. Before it is done, approximately 60 percent of the store will have moved from here to there. We appreciate your patience and hope that our efforts will make for a more effective presentation for your shopping and collecting pleasure.
